12 days of Christmas

We hope our ’12 Days of Christmas’ gifts will lead to healthy bodies and healthy minds throughout the busy festive season! (Note... please remember to use these gifts daily)

1. Breathe

We encourage you to practice mindful breathing... Focus on your breath as you slowly and naturally inhale and exhale... then repeat. Deep relaxed breathing is fantastic to help ease tension, reduce stress and allow you to think clearly. So, if you can’t find a park in the shopping centre or get stuck in the chaotic Christmas traffic, be aware of your breath and use it to relax your mind and body!

2. Hydration station

We love to indulge in our favorite summer beverages over the Christmas period but don’t forget about the humble glass of water. Well, eight of them each day, preferably. Keep your hydration levels up as the weather warms up, just as you would with your plants.

3. Move it

Move your body, shake your body, dance and play. Do whatever you enjoy to be active every day. We were designed to move!

4. Wear a smile

It will look great with any outfit this Christmas! It costs nothing and it’s highly contagious... so give a few away today!

5. Come and see us

Keep up with your usual appointments. Whether it is a medical appointment, a visit to the hairdresser, dentist or physiotherapist, try to keep your routine. This will allow you to not only keep on top of your health but allow your body to go through the normal routines and will help you to relax.

6. Put away your phone

Many people spend many hours window shopping through their phones these days. This Christmas make it your mission to put away that phone and get rid of the distractions. There are some great apps like ‘moment’ that can be used to track your mobile usage and remind you to live in the moment rather than vicariously through your phone.

7. Give

It is the season to give. Rather than spending money on people, spend time with those you love, this gift will be appreciated more than any other in years to come.

8. Time

Believe it or not there are still 24 hours in the day, even as we get closer to Christmas! I know it feels like time is not on our side, but take some time to organize yourself first. This will pay dividends when those last-minute Christmas parties (and hangovers?!) start to pop up each weekend seemingly without notice.

9. Talk

We get so busy rushing around with our heads down that we often miss the chance to talk to each other. Reach out and say hi, this might be the gift that your childhood friend really needed this festive season.

10. We’re all in this together

I know what you’re thinking.... sounds cliché. But seriously, we are all in this together so be appreciative of others and show respect to one another.

11. YOU

Spend some time doing things for you. Personal development. Read a book, go for a run or just taking a moment to daydream out the window at the bird on the lawn. Take some time to focus on yourself

12. Family

Christmas is a time we can get nostalgic, reminisce and appreciate our loved ones with an open heart.
